Aboriginal Workforce Development Initiative (AWDI)

AWDI represents the next stage in the development of a self-sufficient Aboriginal workforce in New Brunswick that are full participants and beneficiaries of the provincial economy. AWDI recently experienced tremendous achievements as part of the ASEP initiative in NB within Forestry,Energy, Natural Resources, Construction, Manufacturing and Environmental Technology. AWDI has now expanded into the Informaton and Communications Technology (ICT) sector.

 

Established in April, 2009, the Aboriginal Workforce Development of NB Inc. is a non-profit organization governed by a Board of Directors. It is a public-private partnership supported by the Government of Canada (HRSDC), the Province of New Brunswick (Aboriginal Affairs Secretariat and Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour), the First Nations of New Brunswick, and the private sector.
